Student Council is an organization that focuses on bringing leadership, charitable endeavors, and spirit to the students of Twin Valley High School. A few endeavors of Student Council include: leadership conferences, volunteering events, hosting school dances and spirit weeks, and many other activities.
Student Council is open to all students in TVHS. Those applying for membership must obtain a membership application from Ms. McRobbie in room 300. General assembly meetings are held every Tuesday morning at 7:00 AM in the library and welcome new ideas from the students of TVHS to make this the best environment for the entire student body and staff.
Student Council believes the success of students and clubs is anchored in strong leadership. STUCO works to create various leadership opportunities for its members, both internally and externally. Members can expect chances to work on leadership skills like communication, team building, creativity, flexibility, and independence. Additionally, TVHS attends the PASC State Conference and PASC Region I Conference when possible in order to give students an opportunity to network with other student leaders, learn additional leadership skills, and hear from professional speakers.
Each year, Student Council takes on numerous causes in order to support our local community and those in need elsewhere. Student Council has officially partnered with TVHS Mini-THON to support Four Diamonds which was adopted by PASC as the official charity for all student councils in Pennsylvania. In the past, STUCO has supported the Australian Wildfire relief movement, Wounded Warriors Foundation, Salvation Army, Helping Harvest food bank, and many others.
Student Council has created various opportunities to show appreciation to our high school teachers and faculty who have dedicated their lives to creating a better learning environment for their students. STUCO has made it a mission to try and plan an appreciation event or gift for each quarter of the school year. Past appreciation events include continental breakfasts, snacks delivered to classrooms, homemade gifts from students in NAHS, luncheons, and more. Clubs that wish to co-sponsor a teacher appreciation event can contact the STUCO secretary (listed on our Executive Board page.)
